Presidential candidate of Labour Party in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, visited the Abuja residence of Mr Al-Kadriyah Mansoor on Tuesday to pay condolences over the killing of his daughter, Nabeeha by kidnappers.
Recall that Mr Al-Kadriyah and six of his daughters were kidnapped on January 2 in their Abuja home. The kidnappers later released the father to go source for a N60 million ransom with a deadline fixed. After the deadline passed, Nabeeha was killed on January 13.
The killing of Nabeeha caused outrage with police intensifying efforts for the rescue of the remaining survivors which was successfully executed on January 20 in a forest in Kaduna.
By January 24, the police announced arresting one Bello Mohammed who, during interrogation, confessed to be part of the gang that kidnapped the Al-Kadriyah sisters, including Nabeeha who was killed.
In a condolence visit to the family of Al-Kadriyah, Obi who was accompanied by activist Aisha Yesufu and former national chairman of the National Conscience Party (NCP), Yunusa Tanko, said government must do everything possible to stop the activities of kidnappers in the country.
He said the visit to the Al-Kadriyah’s family was to identify with the Al-Kadriyah family and prayed for God to condole the family.
