A bandit leader, Dogo Gide, has claimed responsibility over the crash of an Air Force helicopter in Niger State.
PoliticsNow had reported how the Aircraft on a rescue mission, crashed in Niger State on Monday, August 14.
The ill-fated jet had left Kaduna for Niger reportedly on a rescue mission to evacuate soldiers who were ambushed by bandits. The military did not give any reason for the crash apart from announcing that it would set up a panel to investigate.
But in a video published on YouTube, bandits could be seen brandishing various kinds of assorted weapons around the crashed site, along with bodies and debris of the helicopter.
Dogo Gide, the notorious bandit leader who has been raiding communities in Katsina and Zamfara states, personally claimed responsibility in the graphic video, saying his group shot down the helicopter.
