Nollywood actor, Junior Pope Odonwodo, has died at the age of 39.
The movie star was said to have drowned in Anam River in Anambra State on his way to a movie location.
Reports say three other actors were also involved in the accident. Their identities have not been confirmed.
Earlier in the day, Pope shared a video of himself on Instagram on a boat on his way to the movie location.
“See me lamenting….The risk we take to entertain you; crossing river 9ja yesterday with no life jacket…. Na wahooooo Who does that ??” the actor captioned the post.
The actor’s colleagues and fans have begun dropping touching messages in the comment section of the post.
Some entertainers who reacted in the comment section as of press time include Yvonne Jegede, Ruby Ojiakor, May Yul-Edochie, the estranged wife of actor Yul Edochie; Tana Egbo-Adelana, Calista Okoronkwo, and Chizoba Nwokoye.
Yvonne wrote, “I can’t believe it. I don’t want to believe it. I refuse to believe it. Who will ask me ‘Who does that’ when next they see me?”
Pope was married to Jennifer Awele. They have three children together.
