Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, legal representative for Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has submitted a formal petition to Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State.
The petition raises concerns about purported schemes by gangs and non-state actors, reportedly backed by millionaire businessman Emeka Offor, to assassinate Ejiofor.
In addition to Governor Soludo, Ejiofor has also addressed the petition to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun and the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS) Yusuf Magaji Bichi. The purpose is to implore intervention and prevention of the alleged assassination plan.
Ejiofor’s petition recalls the invasion of his ancestral home on June 6, 2021, during which his Personal Assistant, Mr. Samuel Okoro, was tragically murdered. Ejiofor underscores concerns about his family’s safety and the alleged involvement of Emeka Offor in orchestrating the violent attack.
The petition further emphasizes recent threats made by Emeka Offor and the purported mobilization of criminal elements to carry out the assassination.
Ejiofor urges thorough investigation and action to safeguard his life, family, and associates from potential harm orchestrated by Offor and his associates.
