NLC President Ajaero, an Obidient, wants to undermine Tinubu’s govt, says Omokri

Former President Goodluck Jonathan’s aide, Reno Omokri claims Joe Ajaero, leader of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), is an Obidient who only wants to overthrow any government that is not led by Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate in the last presidential election.

In a tweet posted on Monday, Mr. Omokri asserted that the NLC president couldn’t possibly be impartial after sharing a photo of Joe Ajaero at one of Peter Obi’s campaign rallies.

In addition, he charged that the president of the workers union had quietly aided Peter Obi’s bid for the presidency by transforming the organisation into a tribal organisation.

“Does it not constitute a conflict of interests to have as President of the Nigerian Labour Congress a man like Joe Ajaero, who campaigned for and endorsed Peter Obi for President? Obviously, the man cannot be neutral. He will be interested in undermining any government not presided over by Peter Obi. He is an Obidient, and Nigerians should not be Obidient to him. He is turning the NLC into a tribal parapo union in support of Peter Obi’s ambition,” tweet by Omokri read.

His remarks came as the President Bola Tinubu-led administration refuses to accede to the union’s demand about the expiration of the seven-day notice it gave the union, prompting the Nigerian Labour Congress to prepare for yet another strike.

The union is requesting, among other things, that the President Tinubu-led administration raise the nation’s minimum wage in order to mitigate the effects of the recent loss of gasoline subsidies.
