Workers of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) have rejected Tola Odeyemi as their Chief Executive Officer/Post Master General.
The workers shut the gate of NIPOST head office on Monday, to protest the appointment of Odeyemi.
Recall that Presidential spokesman, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, announced last week that President Bola Tinubu appointed a new Chief Executive Office/PostMaster for NIPOST. But moments after the news of Odeyemi’s appointment broke, there were reports that the ousted Postmaster General, Adeyemi Adepoju, claimed he had been reinstated.
Adepoju’s claim made the rounds in a viral video where he was seen addressing some workers, telling them he had been reappointed.
But on Monday, NIPOST protesting workers denied entry to the newly appointed CEO, saying her appointment was against their wish.
The workers said they preferred Adepoju, while chanting solidarity songs and wielding placards.
