Nigerians on social media have knocked the governor of Sokoto State, Ahmad Aliyu over the naming of a road in the state after Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu.
The road formerly called “Pepsi Road” was renamed “Seyi Tinubu” road in a ceremony recently done to commission the road.
For many who commented on the renaming of the road after Seyi Tinubu, they say it was the height of sycophancy.
@JaafarSJaafar said: “It seems the Sokoto governor holds a degree in Sycophancy Science.”
@afrisagacity said: “The question is, on what grounds do you name a state road after Seyi Tinubu? In what capacity does he deserve to have a road named after him – because he’s the son of the President? This is just a classic case of Politics of Patronage in Nigeria.”
@jrnaib2 said: “Even Lagos didn’t name a road after Seyi Tinubu, but Sokoto governor must impress Tinubu.”
@UncleAnass said: “This is how @Ahmedaliyuskt is denigrating the name of Sokoto with his lack of capacity and sheepishness. Imagine naming a road after Seyi Tinubu. Not even the Tinubu self. Mtschew. This is so denigrating. This is really pathetic. Allah ya isa.”
