Nigerians have continued to express their displeasure with President Bola Tinubu on social media following his decision to appoint Senior Advocate of Nigeria Festus Keyamo as the minister of aviation.
Faulting the president’s decision, many Nigerians wondered why Tinubu did not appoint a professional in the aeronautic field to handle the very important ministry.
In a tweet, Miracle Okeke expressed worries, questioning the capacity of Keyamo to handle the very delicate sector “Aviation sector is the fear. How can this man hand a whole aviation sector to festus? This sector is such a critical sector that any mistake, over sight and mismanagement comes with repercussions that may include loss of life.. and a national tragedy”
On his part Amber_jay wrote “SAN as Aviation minister. Former deputy governor of Central Bank as Minister for Power. This administration is funny.”
Wondering why Keyamo was appointed as minister of aviation @suneripapa wrote “What does Mr. Keyamo know about aviation. This man ran a ministry that achieved close to nothing for close to 8 years. The aviation sector is about to go ‘full-audio’ soon.”
Recall that Mr Keyamo had earlier served as a minister under the administration of ex-president Muhammadu Buhari. Mr Buhari had in 2019 appointed Mr Keyamo as the minister of state for Labour and Employment.
