As hunger continues to bite across the land due to escalating inflation, looting of trucks conveying foodstuffs have become routine.
From Katsina to Kogi, Niger and Kaduna, there have been several incidences of trucks conveying foodstuffs being looted.
On Friday in Zaria, a truck belonging to BUA which was conveying several cartoons of noodles, was blocked and emptied by hungry residents.
According to SaharaReporters, a resident said the incident happened around Dogarawa area of Zaria after some youths, who alleged the company was among the manufacturers that were hiking their prices without considering the financial state of average citizens. This made many residents see the situation as an opportunity to loot the food items as they rushed to carry cartoons of noodles loaded at the back of the truck.
