Nigerian musicians who have featured in top Nollywood movies

Some of our favourite music stars have made their debut in blockbuster movies where they displayed their skill and talent.

However, in this article, I will be sharing with you some Nigerian musicians who have featured in Nollywood movies and the characters they played;

1.Talented Nigerian singer, songwriter, and media personality, Simi is one of the singers that has made her debut in Nollywood movies. She was featured in the movie “Mokalik.” She played the character of a child of a food seller.

2. Phyno is a famous Nigerian rapper and music executive. He is known to have a great influence on Igbo rap songs and modern indigenous music.
Apart from displaying his talent in the music industry, he has been featured in a Nollywood movie where he displayed a wonderful performance.

Phyno made his acting debut in “Lion Heart”, where he played the character of Obiora Obiagu, the son of Pete Edochie. In the movie, he wasn’t interested in the family business unlike his sister, Genevieve Nnaji. He rather focused on his movie career.

3. Another rapper who has been featured in Nollywood movies is Falz The Badguy, he has been featured in multiple blockbuster movies and won movie awards and recognition.

Popular Nigerian rapper, Folarin Falana also known by his stage name Falz, is one Nigerian musician that has a lot of potential in the acting industry. Some of his movies include; “New Money”, “Quam’s Money”, “Jenifas Diary”, “Chief Daddy” and many others. In the movie “Chief Daddy” he played the role of Famzy, a billionaire son.

4.Multi-talented singer, Yemi Alade, has appeared in a blockbuster movie, she was one of the characters in the movie, “Omo Ghetto.” In the movie, she played the character of Mogambo, a drug lord, and gangster.

5. Famous Gospel artist, Chidinma EKile was featured in the movie, “The Bridge,” where she played the character of Stella. In the movie, Stella was a pretty Igbo lady who fell in love with a Yoruba man but their relationship suffered a severe setback because of tribal prejudice.

6. Popular Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Teni, was in the movie “Dear Affy” where she played the character of Little Angel, a troublesome girlfriend. The movie was widely accepted by Nigerian movie lovers.

7. Bank W is a singer/ song writer who became a famous name in the movie industry when he was featured in the movie “Wedding Party.” He went further and featured in other movies like Up North, Sugar Rush, and others.
In the movie “Up North”, he played the character of Bassey Otuekong, a young heir who was sent away to national service in northern Nigeria before he is allowed to inherit his father’s assets.
