Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Kingsley Moghalu has called for the urgent need to redesign Nigeria’s constitution to make Nigeria a more workable and prosperous federation.
Making this call in celebration of the country’s 63rd Independence Ceremony, Mr Moghalu urged Nigerians not to get tired, stating that nation-building is a marathon and not a sprint.
Mr Moghalu further highlighted the need to refocus their attention on things that build a great nation.
“Nigeria@63: Despite all our challenges as a country, we should know that nation-building is a marathon and not a sprint. The important thing is to refocus on the things that build great nations: unity of purpose, respect for rule of law, strong institutions, transparent and accountable governance, and , in the case of Nigeria, an urgent need for a constitutional redesign of our country to make it more workable and prosperous as a federation,” tweet by Mr Moghalu read.
His comment comes as Nigerians continues to battle the hard felt impact of the recent removal of fuel subsidy and the continued fall of the Naira.
