Netizens dismiss NNPCL job hiring announcement as distraction from Malta blending plant allegation

 

On Friday, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) announced job openings for various positions in the organisation.

 

The vacancy announcement posted on the X handle of NNPCL, reads: “WE ARE HIRING! Are you passionate about building an exciting career in NNPC Limited? Please visit https://careers.nnpcgroup.com to apply.”

 

But Nigerians who reacted to the vacancy announcement, say it’s a public relations stunt to distract attention from an allegation made by the President of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote that officials of the state-owned oil company are the owners of bending plants in Malta where dirty fuel are brought into the country.

 

Dangote had said on July 12 while receiving lawmakers at his refinery in Lagos. “I am sure Your Excellency sir, most of you have problems with your vehicles, either you’ve had or you are still having problems with your vehicles. It is because of the bad fuel they are importing into the country. I still stand by what I said. Go to filling stations, you can pick up samples and check the quality. That’s the only way. All these ones that somebody will bring a ship, bring in a fake certificate and say this is the quality.

 

“When we go ahead, we will say more in the sense that we know where they blend this thing. Some of the terminal and some of the NNPC people and some traders have opened up a blending plant somewhere off Malta. We all know these areas. We know what they are doing. It’s not like we don’t know.”

 

 

On X, Nigerians dismissed the job hiring announcement.
