A claim by General Overseer of Dunamis Church, Dr Paul Enenche has set tongues wagging.
Enenche had claimed that a bag of rice in his home refuses to finish because his wife used a tenth of it as tithe.
“When my wife and I got married, she was tithing food. A bag of rice she would remove 1/10 out of it and give it as tithe. One day we had a bag of rice that we couldn’t finish. The more you fetched from it the more it continued. She became afraid,” he had said to a mammoth crowd during one of his church services.
The claim has caused commotion on social media with many weighing in on the matter.
In a tweet via his handle posted albeit sarcastically, former senator who represented Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, said the ministry of agriculture should consult Enenche on ways of boosting Nigeria’s rice production.
“Agric Minister needs to engage our revered Pastor Enenche so that the country can boost its rice production,” Sani said amid a flurry of other comments by netizens.
@YoungEmmanuelJ said: “There’s nothing that God cannot do, I believe in miracles, but this particular one, I prefer not to speak.”
But @NonyeKings agrees with the claim: “The things of the spirit are foolishness unto those who are spiritually dead.”
@Dr_Pharouk also said: “Paying tithe is very important but not compulsory, but if you want God to enlarge your coast, you would have to pay tithe.”
