Natasha accuses Akpabio of getting kickbacks from Senate Committee chair, says Senator Karimi trolls her weekly with jail threats

Suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has slammed another fresh allegation against Senator Godswill Akpabio, claiming he demands kickbacks from Senate Committee chairmen.

In an interview with Adeola Fayehun via YouTube, Natasha recalled an encounter with the Senate President some months after he appointed her Senate Committee Chairman on Local Content. She said he asked her for progress report.

According to Natasha, she thought the Senate President wanted a PowerPoint presentation of her engagements and meetings with officials of Petroleum and Gas ministries, the agencies of government her committee was supposed to oversight.

Natasha said after she prepared a powerpoint presentation for the Senate President on her activities as chairman of the Local Content committee, the Senate President laughed it off, and referred her to another senator who would tell her what he meant by ‘progress report.’

She said the senator whom she met told her that she ought to harass ministers and Chief Executive officers to extort money from them, and then passed off the money to the Senate President. She said failure to extort money from ministers or chief executive of government agencies meant she was not capable of being a Committee chairman.

She also dismissed the allegation of Sandra Duru, popularly known as Professor Mgbeke who accused her of blackmailing Akpabio.

Natasha acknowledged talking with Professor  Mgbeke on the phone on March 27 after a mutual friend asked her to appreciate the lady for lending her voice to her case. But Natasha said she never knew the same person was Sandra Duru who did a Facebook live, accusing her of blackmail.

According to Natasha, Prof Mgbeke used Artificial Intelligence to generate comments she never made.

She also questioned why Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun’s phone number was found on Prof Mgbeke’s call log.

She said she was prepared to appear in court on June 3 over charges by the federal government of criminal defamation against Yahaya Bello and Akpabio. She said it’s strange because she was the first to write a petition against the duo which the police failed to investigate.

She revealed that one Senator Karimi and another senator have been trolling her with a WhatsApp comment that she should pack her bags and prepare for jail.
