The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) on Tuesday docked a Lagos house wife Affiong Alice Asuquo (a.k.a ) EVELYN ASUQUO before a Federal High Court preided over by Justice Ayokunle Faji for allegedly engaging in pimp.
According to five count charge filed before the court by NAPTIP’s Senior Legal Officer U.I Egonu, it was stated that Affiong Alice Asuquo a.k.a.EVELYN ASUQUO, 31 years, of Number 7 Idimu Road, Ikotun, Lagos State between January and April 2024 at African 2000 Brothel, harbored three different girls whose ages range between 18 and 21 years, knowing that they would be induced or forced into prostitution, thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 15(b) of the Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act, 2015 and punishable under same Section of the Act.
The defendant pleaded not guilty after listening to the charge preferred against her.
The presiding Judge, Justice Faji adjourned the case till 21st of October, 2024 for commencement of trial of the defendant, while ordering that the defendant be in the custody of the prosecuting agency.
