Former social media aide to President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has asked Nigerians to commend the Nigerian police for arresting a notorious kidnapper in Abuja.
Omokri in a post on his official X account said those who condemned the police over the killing of Nabeeha by kidnappers should praise them for arresting the kingpin of the kidnap gang, Bello Mohammed.
He said: “Let all of us who condemned the Nigerian Police over the Nabeeha incident also take time to commend that same police for speedily arresting Bello Mohammed, the 28 year old kidnapper who abducted and killed her.
“When we do, it will encourage the police. We must all have it at the back of our minds that the only thing separating us from anarchy and a breakdown in law and order are our armed forces and security personnel.
“If you want them to perform better, whenever you see them, hail them. They are Nigeria’s power. They are your shield. Be proud of them. Walk past a soldier or policeman and smile. Wave.
“Offer to buy them a bottle of made in Nigeria beverage of their choice. Because if they disappear into the barracks for just one day and leave you to the mercy of whatever you see, you will know their value.”
