President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received harsh criticism for the political appointments his administration has made.
The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), while accusing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of being biased, encouraged him to make sure that all regions, religions, and groups profit from the political appointments made by his administration and that no ethnic group or religion is perceived to be preferred above others.
The request was made to Tinubu by Professor Ishaq Akintola, executive director of MURIC, in a statement on September 18th.
He lamented that President Tinubu was biased in his nominations of primarily Yorubas and Christians to important positions in his administration.
“We are shocked to our marrows that Tinubu has been appointing Christians and Yorubas mainly to key positions since the inception of this administration at the expense of Muslims.
“Many competent Muslims who campaigned and voted Muslim-Muslim ticket during the presidential election were ignored,” Professor Akintola lamented.
Prof. Akintola however advised the president to ensure balance in coming appointments.
