A former Senator who represented Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has taunted other G-5 governors whose names didn’t appear in the ministerial list of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Apart from the ex-governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, none of the names of the other former G-5 governors made it to the first or second list sent to the Senate for screening and confirmation.
The G-5 were governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who opposed the presidential candidate of their party, Atiku Abubakar. All the governors except Seyi Makinde of Oyo, have served out their tenure.
For his role in rallying the then governors against their party, Wike’s name has made it among the ministerial nominees.
The others, Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Samuel Ortom (Benue) and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), have not been mentioned in any capacity among the appointments so far made by Tinubu.
Shehu Sani said: “Someone is making a case for Ortom and Ikpeazu on the 3rd list.”
Apart from some of the members of the G-5, who are being taunted for not making the ministerial list, former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, and ex-Minister of State for Labour, Festus Keyamo, have also become targets of social media taunts following their failure to also make it to the list of ministerial nominees.
Fani-Kayode was the head of digital campaign for Tinubu during the campaign, while Keyamo was the official spokesman of the campaign council.
