One of the innovations of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the creation of the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.
The Ministry is carved out of the Transportation Ministry and becomes one of the most lucrative Ministries of the Federal Government.
This is because it has such agencies as; Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA), Nigeria Maritime Administrations and Safety Agency (NIMASA) and Nigeria Shippers Council (NSC).
These three agencies of the federal government are the cash cow of the Nigerian economy.
The man who heads the Blue Economy Ministry is Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the 41-year-old lawmaker from the Akoko area of Ondo State.
Tunji-Ojo is expected to bring fresh ideas into the new ministry being one of the youngest members of the yet-to-be-inaugurated Federal Executive Council under President Tinubu
The old Transportation Ministry is now to be headed by Olugboyega Otetola, a former Governor of Osun State.
Tunji-Ojo was born on May 1, 1982.
An entrepreneur and philanthropist, he is a member of the House of Representatives representing Akoko North East/Akoko North-West Federal Constituency of Ondo State.
During his first term in the 9th assembly, he was the Chairman of the House Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
After his inauguration on Monday, August 21 as Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he would cease to become a lawmaker.
