March 18 Elections: Police arrest 17 Political Thugs in Nasarawa
Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested 17 suspected political thugs allegedly imported into the state to disrupt the recently conducted 2023 General Election.
Police Public Relations Officer in the state Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramhan Nansel while briefing newsmen in Lafia said the suspects were arrested at different locations on their way to some polling units to cause violence during the elections.
He explained that the suspects who were arrested with firearms and ammunition, 24 telephone handsets identified themselves as Indigenes of Imo State and the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.
DSP Ramhan Nansel added that while most of the suspects had confessed to the crimes , investigations were ongoing with a view to charging them to court.
