Former chairman of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Professor Chidi Odinkalu has continued to mock ex-Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna after his indictment by the state House of Assembly.

El-Rufai was indicted by the Kaduna State House of Assembly for alleged fraud of N423 billion in a bipartisan decision supported by members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Odinkalu had on Wednesday  in an X post, celebrated the indictment of El-Rufai with a comment that the ex-governor  ‘now lacks the powers to use government apparatus to haunt his perceived enemies.’

In a fresh post on Thursday in reaction to a comment by former senator Shehu Sani who welcomed the decision of the Kaduna State House of Assembly to indict El-Rufai, Odinkalu said: “Distinguished Comrade, it was a serious case of #ElTufiakwa. We told them. The Magistrate he told to convict me in Kaduna for the crime of telling him he is a #VileLittleMan was too afraid not to obey but too afraid to convict. So, the man just abandoned the case & ran….!”

While as Governor, El-Rufai’s administration filed two criminal defamation cases against Odinkalu at a Magistrate Court and High Court.

The government also filed charges against persons who spoke ill of the government. They included chief executive officer of Chocolate City, Audu Maikori, journalists – Stephen Kefason and Luka Binniyat, lecturer and rights activist, John Danfulani, a lawyer, Gloria Ballason and a Facebook user, Segun Onibiyo.
