The Labour Party governorship candidate for Lagos State in the 2023 election, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has welcomed the reunion of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi.
Atiku and Obi, both presidential candidates in the 2023 election under different political parties, met on Saturday in Adamawa. Obi was the keynote speaker at a convocation lecture of the American University of Nigeria owned by Atiku.
Reacting to a photo of the two politicians during the event, Rhodes-Vivour said an alliance between the two politicians was necessary to stop “T-Pain,” a nickname given to Tinubu on social media.
He posted via his X handle: “We must form a united opposition to end this T-pain remix that we are all featuring in.”
Opinions have been split about the possible alliance between the two politicians, especially among Obidients, a political movement supporting Peter Obi’s presidential aspiration. While some of them seem not to have any worries about the partnership, others insisted that they would dump Obi if he settled for Vice Presidential position.
