Ododo, Ajaka, Dino winning big in their strongholds
The results coming from IReV prtal reflects the ethnic slant the Kogi election is taking. Ajaka of the SDP is winning big in his Igala area, just as the candidate of the APC, Usman Ododo, is also sweeping all the votes in his area. Ododo’s win is curious because so far, all the result sheets are showing that voter turn out in his stronghold is over 90%.

Bulk sms claiming Dino has withdrawn from race is false, PDP notifies voters
The Campaign Council of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State has alerted voters in the state that a bulk sms claiming its candidate, Dino Melaye, has stepped down from the race over loss of confidence in the process, is false.
A statement by Barrister Omoyemi Gold Olumudi, spokesperson for the campaign said Dino is very much in the race.
The statement reads: “The attention of Dino/Deen gubernatorial campaign council has been drawn to a bulk SMS making the rounds that Senator Dino Melaye, @_dinomelaye the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) @OfficialPDPNig has withdrawn from the contest as a result of loss of confidence in the electoral process.
“The council invites the good people of Kogi state to disregard such watery propaganda and treat as another fake news from those who know that they have already been rejected in Kogi state.
“The campaign council states that Senator Dino Melaye is confidence of victory despite the propaganda and mechanisms by the the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Yahaya Bello to undermine the electoral process.
“The council urges Kogi state electorates stay vigilant and resist any form of intimidation and electoral heist by the failed APC.”
Soldiers round up thugs with loads of bullets, bags of cash
Soldiers have arrested over a dozen thugs with loads of bullets and bags of cash in the ongoing Kogi governorship election.
The thugs were paraded along with the cash and bullets. It is not immediately clear which part of the state the suspects were apprehended.
Prior to the election, allegations of violence dominated the campaigns. Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Murtala Ajaka had alleged that there were 30 assasination attempts on his life. He accused the state governor, Yahaya Bello of being the mastermind. But Governor Bello denied the charge, alleging the SDP’s candidate was the one employing violence in his campaign.
Earlier, soldiers intercepted a convoy of three military colored vehicles heading to Okene. The vehicles and the occupants were intercepted at the Itakpe junction. The occupants were found to be fake soldiers.
