The PDP wins first polling unit result in the Imo governorship election.
The Peoples Democratic Party has won the first polling unit as results start to troop in.
The PDP secured victory at Community School, Obodo, Araimo ward in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State.
The party polled 77 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC), which trailed with 17 votes while the Labour Party secured four votes.
Uzodimma has thugs in several hotels waiting to hijack result collation, says LP’s Athan Achonu
The Labour Party governorship candidate in Imo State, Senator Athan Achonu, has cast his vote in Omunumo Polling Unit in Imo State.
The LP candidate commended President Bola Tinubu whom he said mean well to deliver free and fair election. But he alerted that the Imo State governor, Hope Uzodimma, has thugs lodged in several hotels across the state with the aim of hijacking collation.
When asked how he will rate INEC’s conduct so far, he responded: “INEC is planning and the bandits are planning. Let’s see how it plays out.”

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Samuel Anyanwu has alleged that there was shootings at his Amaimo ward in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State.
He said some persons came at his polling unit 012 Central School, Amaimo and started shooting.
He however said they were apprehended, adding that the voting in his ward was impressive. He expressed optimism of defeating Governor Hope Uzodimma, but let us watch the electoral umpire as the election progresses.
Alert citizens intercept rigging as INEC officials came to polling units with pre-filled result sheets
An attempt to pass off a pre-filled result sheet as the original, has been uncovered by alert citizens at a polling unit in Imo.
In a viral video, angry voters who spotted the fraud, berated some INEC adhoc staff who wanted to conceal the forged result sheet.
The INEC adhoc staff had attempted to hide the result sheet from the glare of cameras, an action that elicited harsh reactions from voters who queried if they were part of the rigging.
The same incident of pre-filled results sheets were uncovered in Kogi. INEC reacted to the fraud by ordering its senior officials to launch an investigation.
