Barrister Paul Omotoso, the abducted Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ekiti State, has been released.
He was released early Thursday morning, according to family sources.
On Saturday night in Imesi-Ekiti, in the Gboyin local government area of Ekiti state, the APC chairman was abducted by unidentified gunmen while traveling home.
The amount paid to his captors to secure his release is still unknown because the family members all kept their conversations private.
Confirming the development in a statement, Police spokesperson, Sunday Abutu said Omotosho has been reunited with his family after being rescued thanks to the combined efforts of the police and other security organisations.
According to the police, three additional suspects have been taken into custody in connection with the incident.
