Justice Mohammed Liman who gave the order halting the reinstatement of Emir Sanusi Lamido is in America, according to Governor Abba Yusuf.
The judge, while ruling on an application filed by a traditional title holder, the Sarkin Dawaki Babba, Aminu Babba-Dan’Agundi said, “Parties are hereby ordered to maintain status quo ante on the passage and assent of the bill, into pending the hearing of the fundamental rights application.”
The judge fixed June 3 for a hearing of the substantive matter.
But Governor Yusuf said the judge who issued the order did so from the United States.
“The person that issued the court order was in America but he is ordering us to stop what we are doing,” Yusuf said.
“This issue of abuse I must present before the governors’ forum so that we can tackle it accordingly.
“We are agents of following due process, that’s why we did what we did openly before everybody. Those that are meant to maintain that rule of law must follow that also.”
