The Innoson Group’s management has responded to the recent allegations made against Ejikeme Mmesoma regarding the manipulation of her JAMB result.
The Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) claimed on Sunday that Ms. Mmesoma manipulated her JAMB scores to 362, and was erroneously given a ₦3 million scholarship award by Innoson firm.
For performing excellently well in her UTME, Innocent Chukwuma, Chairman of Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing Company, awarded Ms Mmesoma a ₦3 million scholarship.
However, in a statement posted on its official Twitter page on Monday, Cornel Osigwe, the Head of Corporate Communication at Innoson Group, revealed that the organization was currently conducting its own investigation and that the scholarship would be withdrawn if she was found culpable of the allegations leveled against her by the examination body.
The organisation said that the scholarship will remain if its investigation finds the student innocent.
“We’re doing our independent investigation on the issue of manipulation, if we found that the girl willfully manipulated her result, we shall withdraw the scholarship, but if we observe she is innocent of the accusation, then the scholarship stands, whether she is the best or not, ” statement by Mr Osigwe read.
Recall that the examination board withdrew the result of Ms Mmesoma over alleged manipulation of her scores.
In a statement issued on Sunday by Fabian Benjamin, the head of public affairs and protocol at JAMB, It alleged that certain 2023 UTME candidates were parading false test results in an effort to get an unfair advantage.
The exam authority, which also mentioned the case of one Atung Gerald in Kaduna who purportedly claimed to have got 380, warned the public not to fall prey to the applicants’ theatrics.
