The teenager, Mmesoma Ejikeme, accused by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) of inflating her grades in the last Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), has defended herself against the charges.
Recall that JAMB issued a statement alleging that Mmesoma Ejikeme inflated her grades from 249 to 362 to become the top scorer in the last UTME.
The teenager has addressed the allegation directly via a video statement, showing proof that JAMB was being economical with the truth.
In the video, Mmesoma Ejikeme said she did not inflate her grades as alleged by JAMB.
The girl accused by JAMB has told her side of the story. We have to get to the bottom of this story. JAMB made a weighty allegation. Please grant Ejikeme Mmesoma the audience to set the record straight@ARISEtv @OjyOkpe @ayomairoese @ruffydfire @abati1990 pic.twitter.com/50dsVdtNaS

She displayed the result she obtained from JAMB as proof that the examination body was hasty in its conclusion to issue a damaging allegation against her without thoroughly investigating the issue.
She said: “My name is Ejikeme Mmesoma. I am the owner of this result (showed result). I went to the JAMB portal to print this result and this is what they gave me. This is my aggregate, 362. This is exactly how I printed it from their site. They are now saying I forged the result. That is what I don’t know. I am traumatized that they accused me of forging my own result. I am not capable of forging results. This is the evidence (shows the result.)
“Okay, they said that I forged the result. They scanned this QR Code. It showed another name, a Yoruba name, Omotola Afolabi. She got 138. They checked again and saw that the girl got 338, meaning that there is a problem.
“Last week, my principal and the Education Secretary of Anglican High School went to the Commissioner of Education. And she snapped it and sent it to JAMB. They called back and said that this is a forged result and that the JAMB office doesn’t have a copy of this. And they called the DSS over to come to our office. The DSS took us to their office and we made statements. They said that they would investigate the result to know where it came from. Instead of JAMB to wait for the investigation, they posted that I forged my result without confirming.”
