Senate President Godswill Akpabio has denied involvement in the sack of Senator Elisha Abbo.
Abbo, an All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker, was sacked by the Court of Appeal on Monday in a case filed by Amos Yohanna of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Hours after his sack and Yohanna declared winner of the Adamawa North Senatorial poll, Abbo accused Senate President, Godswill Akpabio of plotting his judicial removal.
Abbo also claimed hat Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and others would be removed from the Senate by the Appeal Court because they too failed to support Akpabio.
But Akpabio, on Monday, dismissed his alleged involvement in the political travail of Abbo.
Eseme Eyiboh, Special Adviser, Media, and Publicity to the President of the Senate, denied the involvement of his principal.
He said, “It is unfortunate if he actually said that Akpabio was responsible for his removal. That’s the song of a man looking for scapegoats.
“The Court of Appeal across the country decides cases based on the provisions of the Electoral Act and evidence advanced by petitioners. The Senate President has no reason to witch-hunt any of his colleagues”.
