Israel vs Hamas: Osama Bin Laden’s letter to America trends on TikTok, causes uproar in U.S.

Osama Bin Laden has become a major trend on TikTok following the ongoing bombardment of Gaza by Israel.

The sudden interest of young Americans on the Bin Laden’s letter has angered some American politicians, including Nikki Haley, a former governor of South Carolina who demanded the outright ban of TikTok in America.

TikTok, owned by ByteDance, a Chinese company, has over 150 million American users.

Israel has been executing a punitive attack on Gaza, the operational base of Hamas whose fighters killed 1,400 Israelis on October 7.

Osama was believed to have authored a letter after the September 9, 2001 attack on World Trade Centre which led to the death of 2977 people. In the letter, the Most Wanted terrorist at the time, explained why he attacked the U.S.

He said in the letter that the Western activities of the U.S. in Muslim nations, the United States backing of Israel and its approach towards the Palestinian regions, were at the core of his attacks, which led to the deaths of children and women.

The letter also denounced what Osama described as Western “lies, immorality and debauchery” and argued that attacks against civilians and the United States were justified as a result.

“They threw hundreds of thousands of soldiers against us and have formed an alliance with the Israelis to oppress us and occupy our land – that was the reason for our response on the eleventh,” the letter stated.

Bin Laden has since being killed by American Special Forces who tracked him to a compound in Abbottabad in Pakistan in 2011.
