UEFA made an official announcement on Thursday, revealing the postponement of the Euro 2024 qualifier game between Kosovo and Israel, initially set for Sunday. This postponement is attributed to the ongoing conflict in Israel and Gaza.
In a statement issued by UEFA, the governing body of European football explained, “Israeli authorities are currently not permitting their national team to travel abroad.” Consequently, a new date for the fixture is anticipated and will be communicated at a later time.
UEFA had previously taken the decision to postpone all matches scheduled in Israel in the immediate weeks following the unexpected offensive launched by Hamas. These actions have triggered rescheduling efforts, including Israel’s match against Switzerland, which was originally planned for Thursday. The revised date for this match is now Wednesday, November 15, with the specific venue yet to be determined.
Additionally, Israel’s European Under-21 Championship encounters have also been temporarily deferred. Likewise, an Under-17 mini-tournament, in which Israel was a participant, has been affected by these developments and is likewise postponed.
