Renowned Nigerian actress, Ini Edo, clarifies her single status at the age of 41, emphasizing the importance of finding genuine love in a recent social media interview.
Ini Edo expressed her desire for a partner who can truly love and commit to her. The veteran actress, who embarked on her film career in 2000, made a clear distinction between mere affection and a deep commitment in a relationship. She asserted that being loved is not synonymous with commitment.
Highlighting her perspective on relationships, Ini Edo emphasized that her quest for companionship goes beyond financial considerations. Instead, she values a man’s ability to navigate situations and interact with those around him. According to her, the key lies in a man’s capacity to handle circumstances and exhibit kindness, rather than focusing solely on monetary aspects.
In articulating her stance, Ini Edo stated, “I’m single because I just want somebody that can really love me. That’s all. I’m not asking for too much. You can love someone and not be ready to be committed. They are two different things. Maybe that’s why I’m still single. I can’t be in a toxic relationship if you can’t give that protective energy that allows me to respect you.”
She continued, “I can be with a man I can’t respect. If you can’t earn my respect, then we can’t be together because what is the point? When it gets to the point that I start to disrespect you, that means you have brought yourself down to that point I begin to talk back at you. It’s not all about money. It’s about how you manage a situation and how you manage the people around you. Simply put, it’s all about kindness.”
