INEC Declares Tinubu Winner
The Independent National Electoral Commission ,INEC has declared Bola Ahmed Tinubu of All Progressives Congress, APC as the winner of February 25 Presidential Election.
APC candidate polled Eight Million Seven hundred and Ninety Four Thousand, Seven hundred and Twenty Six votes to defeat his closest rival Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP who scored Six million, Nine Hundred and eighty four thousand, five hundred and twenty votes.
According to INEC Chairman ,Professor Mahmood Yakubu, Bola Ahmed Tinubu of APC was declared the winner because he had met the requirements of the law and also scored the highest votes in the election.
The INEC Chairman also announced that the Candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi pulled a total number of six million one hundred and one thousand five hundred and thirty three votes to come third.
Professor Yakubu said that the Commission would issue certificate of returns to the President and Vice President Elect by 3pm today Wednesday 1st of March at the International Conference Center Abuja.
