IBC DG, Ify Onyegbule honoured with chieftancy title in Imo
Ace broadcaster and director general of the Imo Broadcasting Corporation (IBC), Ms Ify Onyegbule has been conferred a chieftaincy title of “Ada Di Ora Nma” of Orlu by His Imperial Majesty, Eze (Dr.) Thomas Obiwuru Obiefule ,The Okairuro and Ezekaibeya of Umudioka Royal Dynasty of Orlu, Imo State.
The Imperial Majesty conferred the chieftancy title on the veteran broadcaster during His 83rd birthday celebration and 43 years on the throne which held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, in Orlu.

The King said the honour was bestowed upon Chief Onyegbule in recognition of her generous and exceptional gesture towards veteran broadcasters during the IBC Golden Voices Award in Imo State.
Eze Obiefule said the move earned her his respect and admiration because no other DG had achieved that feat since the inception of IBC. The monarch particularly spoke about how persons who were thought to have been forgotten were invited and celebrated on that day to the full glare of Imo people.
With the title “Ada Di Ora Nma” as a symbol of distinction and respect in Orlu and Imo in general, Chief Onyegbule’s achievement is regarded as a stepping stone toward recognizing the contributions of others in the broadcasting field and an encouragement for young women.
