Renowned Nigerian singer, Naira Marley, has returned to Nigeria in response to an invitation from the Nigerian police to address inquiries related to his alleged involvement in the passing of Mohbad.
In a tweet, Naira Marley expressed his commitment to cooperate with the authorities in their ongoing investigation into Mohbad’s death. He stated, “I’ve just arrived back in Lagos, Nigeria, with the intention of aiding the authorities in their ongoing inquiry. It’s crucial that I contribute to the cause for Imole. I will be meeting with the police in the hope that the truth will come to light and justice will be served.”
Confirming this development, Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, revealed that the popular Afrobeat artist is currently in police custody.
It’s worth noting that there has been an ongoing public demand for Naira Marley’s apprehension in connection with Mohbad’s demise. It has been alleged that Naira Marley had been consistently harassing the singer prior to his tragic passing.
The clamor for Naira Marley’s arrest intensified following the resurfacing of a petition written by Mohbad in June, in which he sought police intervention to prevent Naira Marley and his associate Sam Larry from intimidating him.
