Senator Ned Nwoko says that he cannot marry a woman who is not a virgin.
Nwoko said many ladies had been brought to him for marriage, but he refused to marry them because they did not meet his requirements.
Speaking on his marriage to Regina Daniels, he said he married the Nollywood actress because they are from the same place.
“My uncles brought some local girls and they have been like marry this one, but I said no, they do not meet what I want.
“I mean for her (Regina) particularly, I married her because she is from my place. I cannot marry a woman who is not a virgin.”
Nwoko had previously opened up about his stance on polygamy.
The politician said his decision to marry more women was only a gesture that would eventually help society.
In 2019, Nwoko, at the age of 59, got married to Daniels, who was then 19, as his sixth wife.
His marriage to the actress fuelled mixed reactions on social media, as many users argued over their age difference.
Their union is blessed with two children.
