Activist and Human rights lawyer Deji Adeyanju has accused Deputy Inspector General of Police Galadanci of ignoring plea to release children and other protesters arrested during the August #EndBadGovernance protest.
Recall that 32 children were arraigned on Friday before Justice Obiora Egwuatu at the Abuja division of the Federal High Court for participating in the #EndBadGovernance protests.
In a post on his X handle, Adeyanju said despite several efforts to get the kids released, the police ignored them. He said he personally appealed to police DIG Galadanci to intervene but the man ignored.
He said: “There’s nothing we didn’t do to get the kids released in the last 3-months. This was me (showing a video) confronting DIG Galadanchi at NBA Conference over the kids. I even followed him after this to beg him. We begged everyone in the government to help & finally had to go to court to force their arraignment.”
