How I threatened 50 Cent after his bouncer beat up Eedris Abdulkarim – Charly Boy

Charly Boy, the Nigerian singer, has opened up about his role in the 2004 fight between 50 Cent and Eedris Abdulkareem.

In an interview with the Honest Bunch podcast, Charly Boy said 50 Cent and Eedris were both scheduled to perform at a concert in Port Harcourt.

He said he received a distress call from Eedris, who claimed that 50 Cent’s associates assaulted him at the Lagos airport after a dispute over seating in the first-class section.

He said he mobilised “3,000 bikers” to the airport to confront 50 Cent for allegedly intimidating Eedris.

He narrated how he confronted the rapper inside an SUV, and condemned him for his actions.

“I stormed the airport with almost 3000 bikes. On getting to the airport, I asked Eedris to tell me what happened,” he said.

“He said he was booked for a show alongside 50 Cent and he went to sit in the first class in the plane where the rapper was and his bouncers asked him to leave that the first class space was not for Nigerian artistes but he refused, then they beat him up.

“They also beat his bouncer who tried to rescue him from them. 50 Cent was aware of what happened.

“After Eedris narrated his ordeal, I asked where 50 Cent was and they pointed to an SUV. So I went into the SUV to confront him.

“Already, 50 Cent’s security team was seeing the tension around the airport with the bike men moving around. I was also very high that day.

“I said to 50 Cent, ‘You are the one beating my people in their own country? You came to Nigeria and you are beating my people.’”

He added that after the confrontation, the organisers were compelled to cancel the concert.

The singer also revealed that he used to be a thief who usually scammed banks.
