The Hotel where the unveiling of the African Democratic Congress was billed to hold has canceled the booking, per report from insiders in the movement.
The Wells Carlton Hotel and Apartments, Asokoro, Abuja, was billed for the event at 2pm today but the management cancelled the booking hours to showtime.
In a notice, the hotel apologised to the event organisers, blaming an “internal compliance matter” as the reason for cancelling the event.
The notice stated, “We sincerely regret to inform you that due to an internal compliance matter that has just come to our attention, we are unable to proceed with hosting your scheduled event.
“We are fully aware that the event is less than 24 hours away, and we deeply apologise for the timing and inconvenience this may cause.”
Organisers of the coalition, led by former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, among others, have, however, relocated the event to an alternative venue.
The coalition’s adoption of the ADC followed concerns that the Independent National Electoral Commission may not register the newly formed All Democratic Alliance in time to meet electoral deadlines.
