Aisha Yesufu, co-convener of the Bring Back Our Girls movement, asserted that prayers are not necessary for Nigerians to overcome the current economic hardship brought on by the recent elimination of gasoline subsidies.
As Nigerians continue to feel the harsh effects of the recent elimination of fuel subsidies, Ms. Yesufu took to social media to voice her views in a tweet on Friday. She stated that what Nigeria needs to do is to start using what God has given the country.
“Nigeria does not need your prayers now. God gave Nigeria everything even before Nigeria asked,” she wrote.
“What Nigeria needs is for you to use what God has given Nigeria to make Nigeria a great country,” she said.
Recall that the price of consumables has increased wildly ever since President Bola Tinubu’s administration ordered the immediate removal of fuel subsidies.
Additionally, President Tinubu oversaw the consolidation of the nation’s foreign exchange market, which resulted in a freefall of the local currency at the foreign exchange market, where it is currently trading for roughly N960 to a dollar.
