Guber Polls: Umar Namadi Declared Winner of Jigawa State Governorship Election
The Independent Electoral Commission INEC in Jigawa State has declared the APC governorship candidate Umar Namadi as the winner of the Saturday’s governorship election in the state.
The Collation Officer, Professor Muhammad Zayyan Unar Stated this shortly after collating the results at the INEC headquarters, Dutse the state capital.
Professor Muhammad Umar Zayyan who is also the Vice Chancellor, Federal University Birnin Kebbi explained that Umar Namadi who is the flagbearer has emerged the winner with the total votes of six hundred and eighteen thousand four hundred and forty nine to defeat all his opponents.
According to him, the PDP candidate, Mustapha Sule Lamido got three hundred and sixty eight thousand seven hundred and twenty six votes.
He added that the NNPP candidate Aminu Ibrahim Ringim got thirty seven thousand one hundred and fifty six votes.
Umar Namadi of the APC won all the twenty six local governments out of the twenty seven local government areas of the state.
The collation officer pointed out that a total number of votes cast is one million fifty two thousand seven hundred and ninety three while the accredited voters in the state was one million seventy three thousand five hundred and forty.
According to him, the total valid votes was one million thirty two thousand five hundred and sixty seven.
Zayyan Umar added that the total number of rejected votes cast is twenty thousand two hundred and twenty six.
