The #EndBadGovernance Movement in Lagos has invited Nigerians to participate in a peaceful protest on Friday, November 8 to demand the dropping of charges against all #EndBadGovernance protesters.
Recall that 11 #EndBadGovernance protesters are due in court on November 8 in Abuja to answer charges of treason filed against them by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government. Treason, which is a crime of plotting to topple a government, carries death penalty.
According to the action of the Nigerian government, the defendants’ decision to protest against hunger was equal to treason.
The #EndBadGovernance Movement in Lagos has urged Nigerians to join them on Friday in Lagos to protest against the attempt to kill Nigerians for protesting against hunger.
The rally will commence at 7am with the Ikeja Under Bridge as the meeting point.
The post for one the group reads: “STOP TINUBU FROM SENTENCING PEACEFUL PROTESTERS TO DEATH
“Under Nigeria’s laws, treason is punishable by death. Adaramoye Michael Lenin, Mosiu Sodiq, Daniel Amanda, Angel love Innocent, and other #Endbadgovernance protesters presently in detention and on trial do not deserve a death sentence for joining the August protest to protest against hunger and hardship.
“This is why we are marching out tomorrow to call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to drop charges against all protesters on trial just as he did with the child-protesters few days ago following global outcry.
“Please join us tomorrow in Lagos by 7am at Ikeja underbridge to demand freedom for all protesters in detention and on trial.
“An injury to one is an injury to all!”
