Lagos State Governor Babjide Sanwo-Olu has awarded a N10 million naira cash prize to Yusuf Aminat Imoitesemeh, a Law student at Lagos State University who bagged a 5.0 CGPA.
Announcing the gesture in a tweet on Thursday, Governor Sanwo-Olu said her 5.0 cgpa is a testament to her hard work and the state’s quality education.
“Fulfilled my promise today by awarding Miss Yusuf Aminat Imoitesemeh, LASU’s top student, with the N10 million prize. Her 5.0 CGPA in Law at just 23 years old is a testament to her hard work and Lagos State’s quality education. I also had the chance to have a meaningful conversation with Miss Aminat and her parents, Mr. Ibrahim Yusuf and Hajia Halimah,” the governor tweeted.
“We discussed her background and the crucial role her disciplined parents played in her personal development. She shared how her parents’ unwavering commitment to her and her siblings’ education shaped her path to success. They instilled the value of aiming high and provided everything they needed,” he added.
Mr Sanwo-Olu further encouraged the trail-blazing student to “use her voice as a champion for vulnerable communities and to promote initiatives tailored to their needs. Together, we can create opportunities for those who need it most.”
