A throw back video has surfaced again showing then Governor of Rivers State and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike laying curse upon himself if he ever betrays ex-Rivers Governor Peter Odili.
Wike and Odili were best of friends until Odili decided to take side with Governor Siminalayi Fubara on the battle over the control of the political structures of Rivers State.
In the old video, which appears to be in 2022, Wike attributed his wife’s appointment as a Federal High Court judge to the Odilis. He also acknowledged their crucial support to help him navigate all the political turmoils he confronted as Rivers Governor. He said the Odilis suffered blackmail because of him.
He then declared: “Any day I will make Dr. Odili and his family to cry, God don’t make me grow… these people (the Odilis) suffered blackmail and everything because of me… ”
But the two have since fallen apart, throwing jibes at each other.
Odili had a few days ago, accused Wike of plotting to turn Rivers into his personal estate, saying Fubara stopped him.
Wike replied Odili, claiming the former governor was the one who has turned Rivers into his personal estate, citing his wife appointment as chairman of governing council, his daughter as a commissioner, another daughter a judge, with Odili being the General Overseer.
