Former Kaduna senator, Shehu Sani, has blamed failed elections for the increasing coup in Africa.
His comment follows the latest coup that ousted president Ali Bongo of Gabon.
Mr Sani in a tweet suggested that the family of the ousted Gabon president destroyed democracy in the country.
According to the former Kaduna senator, Gabonese citizens were celebrating the military takeover as against reactions of west African leaders
Mr Sani said democracy will be dead when election are poisoned.
“A BBC correspondent just reported people in Gabon are ‘genuinely’ trooping out to the streets in support of the Coup in Libreville.The Bongo family dominated and destroyed Democracy.Democracy dies in Africa when elections are poisoned,” Mr Sani wrote
