Bayo Onanuga a spokesperson for the President Bola Tinubu Campaign Organisation, has appealed to Nigerians to stop attacking his principal over the hardship caused due to the increase in the pump price of fuel
Mr Onanuga in a statement via his official Twitter page emphasized the need for Nigerians to exercise patience with the President Tinubu led government.
He pleaded for patience and understanding, saying that the entire nation is collectively facing the impact of the fuel price increase.
The Presidential spokesman further urged the public to expect the palliatives promised by the federal government to cushion the effect of the hike in price of fuel.
“ In this season of high fuel price, I want to plead with our people to exercise some patience. We are all jointly experiencing the pain. All those intemperate attacks against the new government of President Bola Tinubu should stop,” the statement by Onanuga read.
” Let’s await the palliatives as his government has promised. Let’s await the palliatives that will flow from each state as more money is channeled to them from the subsidy savings.
We cannot go back to the hyper fraudulent subsidy regime where we were spending more money on petrol than on roads, education and health. My people, patience, patience please. I beg you all.
No country has ever made progress without the people going through some pains. Our country under Tinubu’s watch shall certainly excel,” Onanuga’s statement added.
His comment follows the latest increase in the pump price of fuel that saw PMS price go up from N 568 to the N617 which it currently sells.
Nigerians have continued to lament over the hard felt impact of the removal.
