The superiority battle between Rivers Governor, Siminalaya Fubara and his ex-godfather, Nyesom Wike, has taken a new dimension.
The Rivers government headed by Fubara on Wednesday demolished the State House of Assembly building on Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, the complex which serves as the meeting point of the 27 lawmakers loyal to Wike.
Wike, the immediate past governor of Rivers State and now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has been locked in a tug of war with Fubara, his successor.
The demolition of the complex was coming some weeks after the hallowed chambers of the state assembly was burnt by unknown political thugs.
The legislative arm split into two following the move by pro-Wike lawmakers to impeach Fubara.
However, as early as 5 a.m. on Wednesday, over 10 bulldozers, excavators, and other heavy-duty machines were brought to the assembly complex.
The demolition commenced at about 7:30 a.m.
