For his friend Peseiro, Mourinho backs Super Eagles to lift trophy

Former Chelsea coach, Jose Mourinho, has backed the Super Eagles against the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire ahead of the African Cup of Nations finals.

In an interview with FIVE shared on its X handle on Sunday, February 11, Mourinho said: “My best friend in football is in the final. The Nigerian is my best friend, he grew up with me, we studied together, we went to University on the same day. We spent five years together everyday. He’s my, probably my biggest friend in football. Jose (Peseiro), my big friend, for him a huge opportunity to make history because never a Portuguese coach won the African cup.”
