The death of popular Nollywood actress, Cynthia Okereke, dealt a blow to the Nigerian movie industry which has been suffering losses of its great actors.
Here are five things you probably didn’t know about this great actress
- Cynthia Okereke was born on April 20, 1960 in Enugu. Married to Mr Okereke, the union is blessed with children and grandchildren.
- Cynthia ventured into acting professionally in 1998 when she joined the Nigerian movie industry. But her breakthrough movie was “King Jaja of Opobo,” which garnered the attention of several movie directors and producers in Nigeria. That opened the doors for more roles.
- Some of the biggest movies Cynthia Okereke has featured include; the 2003 film, Osuofia in London and its part 2, Wisdom of the Gods, Chibundu, Woman on Top, North and South.
- In March 2022, the Warri based Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin, gifted Cynthia Okereke a RAV car after settling an age long dispute between her and fellow Nollywood actress, Chinwe Owoh. He also gave her N2 million for fuel.
- In July 2022, Cynthia Okereke was kidnapped along with some of her colleagues while heading to a movie location in Enugu.nThey spent seven days with the kidnappers without food.
