FG releases list of transportation companies in 50% Christmas travel discount for Nigerians

FG’s Christmas travel palliative has only five transportation companies

The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga has provided the list of companies that will be partnering with the Federal Government in its attempt to reduce transportation burden on Nigerians during the Yuletide travel.

He made this known on Thursday via a post on his X handle, formerly Twitter, where he also attached the route the vehicles will be plying.

PoliticsNow had reported that Tinubu announced a 50 per cent cut in the fares charged by commercial buses on inter-state routes during the Yuletide.

This is as he also approved free rides for commuters on all train services within the period.

Announcing this to State House Correspondents at the Aso Rock Villa on Wednesday, the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Mr Dele Alake, said it will commence on Thursday.

He said: “It is in this wise that the President is announcing through us that beginning from tomorrow, December 21, Nigerians willing to travel can board public transport via mini buses, luxury buses at 50 per cent discount of current cost and all our train services on the route the trains currently serve at zero cost on their travels this holiday season”

Speaking further on the development, Onanuga named five transportation companies that will be partnering with the FG to execute the scheme.

According to him, they are GIG (God is Good), Chisco Transport, Young Shall Grow, God Bless Ezenwata, and Area Motor.

Taking to his social media page, Onanuga posted: “Participating companies in the FG’s plan to reduce the transport burden of travelling 5 million Nigerians:
